Individually we used them to create a flow sheet showing some sort of order to our personal design process. I found it quite hard to put everything in a set order because I find research, blogging/documenting, and experimentation/thumbnail sketches is an ongoing process as well as constant feedback. I find the entire design process as a overlap rather than a linear flow diagram.
My Design Process
Once I've read through, defined and outlined the brief I begin by brainstorming any initial thoughts and ideas. I identify the target audience. I next move on to research, gaining inspiration from looking through books in the library or portfolios/blogs online, I find research is a ongoing process throughout the brief. I sketch out some thumbnails, and possible concepts that I could use. I try to create a strategy (not that I always stick to it) this includes lists of things to do as well as time management plans.
Throughout the brief, I constantly blog and document my work, evaluating and analysing. When it comes to crits I present my ideas and the rationale behind each design. I attempt to make at least a couple design boards for each crit. Finalise any last adjustments. Produce the final outcome, test it out and write a final evaluation.
Whilst working, I always take regular breaks when I'm working else I get too distracted and stuck. If I'm feeling uninspired, to get myself feeling motivated I tend to go on walks or to the gym where I mull things over.

We then began folding paper, I began by creating a simple concertina fold.
